Mapping of the EU – UN Cooperation in Jordan
Country: Jordan
Funder: European Union
Years: 2024 – 2025

Jordan hosts a large number of refugees and faces economic challenges due to regional conflicts, making development assistance critical for achieving its goals. The first EU-UN Strategic Dialogue in February 2024 emphasized the need for a comprehensive overview of ongoing and future EU-UN cooperation in Jordan. A mapping of EU funding in UN programs and projects is required to ensure alignment with Jordanian priorities and maximize impact.
Key tasks include: Mapping EU-UN projects from 2021 to 2027, analyzing funding by sector and year. Consulting EU Member States (MS) to assess their contributions to UN agencies, including regional and non-earmarked funding. Consolidating data from EU and UN sources to provide a comprehensive funding overview.
Analyzing strengths, weaknesses, and alignment with the EU-UN Strategic Partnership priorities, offering recommendations for improvement. The deliverables will establish a credible baseline and guide future cooperation.
